redimentes tempus Col 4:5

This point of now
So omnipresent we forget
our native element is eternity,
fail to heed this moment’s weight:
He created us to always be.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
This point of now
So fleeting we forget
it is eternally present to the One who is ever-same,
as betrayal and chaff or love and praise,
to our everlasting glory or our shame.
Pray for us sinners now…
This point of now
So abundant we forget
our own minds could not have conceived us
and we began so recently,
yet how soon He shall receive us.
Now and at the hour…
This point of now
So freely given we forget
His gift is all our living,
and we steal it for ourselves,
neglect the cup of our thanksgiving.
At the hour of our death.
This point
This now just past
another step toward the threshold of Love at last,
toward that final step that departs time,
where the eternal import of
each moment’s choosing
will show in relief de profundis or sublime.
This point of now,
forever present to the King,
when we pierce eternity illumines everything.
Pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

“Therefore, while we have time, let us work good to all men.” Gal 6:1
